About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Information and Advice Officer permanent post - Children's Services, within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub - based in Chord Park, God Manchester


You would be joining an established and high performing Team who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of Children and Families in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area.

The purpose of the MASH is to make timely, co-ordinated and proportionate enquiries to ensure vulnerable children are safe in respect of contacts received that do not clearly meet a statutory threshold.

One of the integral parts of completing an enquiry is working closely with partner agencies and being able to make a recommendation as to the level of service that needs to be provided.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. You would be supported by qualified Social Workers.

What will you be doing?

This role involves responsibilities such as:

  • Gathering comprehensive information as part of the MASH enquiry to effectively identify risk, protective factors and address any safeguarding concerns in liaison with the Senior Practitioner/ MASH Team Manager.
  • Provision of feedback to referrers on the outcome of the contact, including where no further action has been taken to partner agencies, other organisations, and members of the public as appropriate and within timescales.
  • Ensuring relevant information is shared appropriately with consent and in line with appropriate Data Protection legislation. (GDPR)
  • Provision of advice and information to professionals about resources and services that will meet the needs of children and families.
  • Working closely with the Social workers/Senior Practitioner/Team manager to deal effectively with all enquiries from a variety of sources (including members of the public, service users, internal departments, and professionals from other agencies) to provide advice and guidance on safeguarding matters.
  • Liaising closely with MASH partner agencies in undertaking MASH enquiries, to contribute to a seamless and transparent multi agency, customer focused response for children, young people, and their families.
  • Ensuring that information is shared with partners in accordance with the information sharing agreement.
  • Working in partnership with internal and external partners to improve collaboration, coordination, and support within a multiagency environment.
  • Effectively and comprehensively gathering record and analysing sensitive and confidential data on the relevant database.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records in accordance with Data Protection legislation and to enable the production of statistical and management reports as required.
About you

Although there are no specific qualifications required for these roles previous experience in working with children and families would be beneficial.
