  • The mission of the Data Protection Service (DPS) group is to implement the Firm's Data Cybersecurity Strategy by architecting, engineering, deploying, and operating technical data security controls and capabilities for the Enterprise. This is achieved by continued focus on architectural rigor, automation, Agile delivery, and adoption of Data Protection Services' control implementations by our users and partners.
  • As a DLP squad member you will be involved in the service delivery and development of key DLP infrastructure and controls across the Morgan Stanley organization. You will be delivering operational and engineering services while working closely with wider Technology groups, stakeholders & our 3rd party vendors.

  • What will you be doing?
  • You will work with the DLP squad supporting Engineering & Operational tasks involved in data security services, ranging from service delivery, automation, DevOps tasks and supporting an oncall rota.
  • Working with the DLP squad & wider Technology stakeholders, you will support the continuous improvement of our services through the development of automation scripting and effective observability solutions.
  • You will be supporting the rapid prototyping of various tools, technologies, and their new capabilities, aligning to business requirements.
  • Working with Technology team, you will onboard new tools to support business needs and integrate with the Morgan Stanley eco system
  • Across the DLP squad and stakeholder groups, you will participate in design and code reviews.
  • You will deliver knowledge sharing across our global Data Protection squads & chapters, providing documentation, presentations, and internal postings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • What we're looking for:
  • Application Support experience on a Unix platform OR Unix System administration experience who is looking to move into Application Support.
  • Familiarity with command prompt, including bash or sh or csh.
  • Develop automations and scripting using PowerShell or Python
  • Knowledge of incident and problem and change management
  • Ability to communicate and document processes and tasks
  • Support a on call rota (Approx 1 in 10)
  • Skills that will help you in the role:
  • A keen understanding of process and managing controls
  • High level language understanding: python, powershell. Ability and willingness to pick up
  • Good customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Familiarity with basic database querying: showing a basic understanding of reading or writing sql.
  • Familiar with upstream and downstream teams and infrastructure (e.g. networking teams, infrastructure teams, database teams).
  • Has experience in Application support
  • Windows Admin level knowledge.
  • Experience supporting a security product

  • This role is based at our Glasgow office on Waterloo Street in the city centre.
