Seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator for a 3-4 month fixed term contract in the central Truro area.

Role Overview:
Key Duties:

***- Prepare monthly payroll for payment by the 20th day of each month

  • Prepare payment summaries for all payroll deductions for authorisation by the appropriate time limits
  • Administration of new employees
  • Administration of leavers
  • Maintenance for all existing staff
  • Maintenance of paper personnel files in support of the HR and Recruitment Advisor
  • Maintenance of the digital payroll files on the Shared Finance Drive
  • Preparation of monthend journals from the payroll system to the iFinance system
  • Processing of payroll year end including the issue of P60s
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations as required
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations as required
  • Maintaining sick pay entitlement records for all staff
  • Prepare sick leave KPI charts, graphs, and analysis as required
  • Deal with all employee and head office queries relating to payroll, tax, and, as appropriate, pensions
  • Preparation of P11D claims by the appropriate time limits
  • Producing monthly payroll reports
  • Submit RTI reports to HMRC by the statutory time limits
  • Check new and current employees for pension auto enrolment, notifying them of their rights to join or optin as appropriate, adding and removing them from the scheme as necessary
  • Preparation of Monthly Contribution Reconciliation returns for the Pension scheme and properly maintain records of teaching service across the business
  • Preparation of the End of Year Certificate (EOYC) for the Pension Scheme on an annual basis
  • Gender Pay Gap Reporting as needed

  • Data Protection keeping uptodate with legislation and organising digital payroll files to ensure compliance
  • Uploading payslips into the portal and guiding staff as required as to how to access them
  • Prepare information for annual DfE and ISC surveys
  • Prepare information for annual ONS employee surveys
  • Prepare information for other surveys from head office and external agencies as appropriate
  • Analytics of employee pay and turnover as required
  • Prepare annual pay rise letters in conjunction with HR department and increases approved by governors and Living Wage Foundation as appropriate
  • Prepare offer letters and contracts of employment as needed by HR Director and as time permits
  • Prepare DBS criminal records checks on an ad hoc basis
This role is being offered on a full time basis, immediate start.
