Full time - 4 days in the office, 1 day at home

We are seeking a Student Accommodation Officer to work across two sites in Central London University.


Your role will be to support the provision and day-to-day operation of a university, which will include allocating accommodation and providing suitable support and guidance for any accommodation-related matters.


Your role will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing the student living experience and helping to build a sense of community in the residences.

To work closely with the Centres and other stakeholders to ensure maximum occupancy and delivery of high-quality service is achieved.


  • To support the provision and daytoday operation of the University's accommodation in London, striving for an excellent student experience and maximum occupancy.
  • To provide appropriate support and guidance to all students and other stakeholders regarding accommodation, dealing with any accommodationrelated matters that may arise. To be the first point of contact for all accommodationrelated queries, including dealing with any complaints.
  • To ensure student's accommodation preferences are met where possible and that student satisfaction remains high about their living arrangements.
  • To closely monitor and report on accommodation occupancy and on accommodation resources compared to predicted student numbers.
  • To allocate accommodation, maintain an accurate, uptodate accommodation database, liaise regularly with accommodation providers, and provide regular reports as required.
  • Coordinate the arrival and departure of students in residential and homestay accommodation. Run reports on a regular basis to check expected student numbers and plan for arrivals. Organise and oversee the preparation of rooms for new students. To coordinate the greeting/checkin of new students over arrivals weekends.
  • To support the welcome, checkin and orientation of students to our accommodation sites providing excellent customer service with both pre
- and post-arrival and assisting students to settle into the residence, the environment and location in their first days and weeks of arriving in the UK. Some out-of-hours and weekend work may be required during the key intake periods.

  • Allocating students to rooms, making sure everyone's happy, dealing with customer queries, dealing with the complexities of our January arrivals. If we don't have rooms avail for courses in Jan, they will be dealing with homestay options, so working with homestay agents.

You must have experience working in an accommodation support role within Education, ideally if you have worked in a summer school accommodation office or similar.


  • You need to be proactive and a confident communicator.
  • Ideally experience in using student accommodation booking and allocation software
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Good IT skills including competence in the interpretation of management information.
  • Experience in providing excellent service in a customerfacing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Genuine commitment to provide for the welfare and support of students
