Description

The post holder will be responsible for providing senior management in partnership to ensure the delivery of innovative patient focused pathways across the HB, which optimise the delivery of services to meet the needs of individual patients and national and local priorities and support the delivery of the Integrated Medium-Term Plan.


The post holder will lead the development and implementation of a composite programme of interventions, housed in the Medical Directorate, which address the sustainability challenges in General Practice and Primary Care as well as supporting the aims of theOur Healthier Wales,Clinical FuturesandCare Closer to Home strategies through the implementation of new clinical pathways, systems and roles and the optimisation of existing clinical pathways to enhance clinical outcomes, patient experience, service outcomes productivity and financial efficiency.


The post holder will provide vision, leadership and strategic direction for primary care services, working with and supporting the wider team and key stakeholders in the development and delivery of primary care services.

The post holder will be responsible for developing short
- and long-term strategies and ensuring their effective implementation within designated areas of responsibility to contribute to the overall efficiency of ABUHB.


Operationally and strategically lead and manage the Medical Directorate support team whilst working closely with the Assistant Divisional Directors, Deputy Medical Director (Primary Care), Primary Care Clinical Directors, Strategic Change Lead, Head of Primary Care, Clinical Advisers and NCN leads to lead on innovation and effective delivery quality improvement and clinical innovation within the Primary Care Division and encompassing independent primary care contractors.


Support the ADD, the General Manager, and Strategic Change Lead in the provision of vision and leadership for the strategic development of primary care functions, to ensure the delivery of an innovative, patient focused service across the Health Board.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
