We are looking for an individual to join our growing production team as a Machine Programmer who shares our Company values, Honesty, Communication and Respect.


Hourly rate:
£13.25 per hour. You will also receive a shift premium of 20% on top of the hourly rate if you agree to working a 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm rotating shift pattern.


Job Summary:

You will assist in the manufacture, movement, packaging and loading of our products and be able to operate cutting equipment, machinery, forklifts and lifting equipment in a safe manner.


Key Responsibilities:


  • You will work with CAD drawings from Rhino, AutoCAD and Solidworks in 2D and 3D Models to program our cutting machines.
  • You will program the machines cutting paths and speeds to produce a range of products in EPS, Expanded Polystyrene for Construction use.
  • You will learn to program in Vectorworks and TD Projects a range of hot wire contour cutting machinery across a range of factories to produced sliced and shaped products in accordance with 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • You will help select the most appropriate machine for each job, whilst providing feedback to planning and management on the cycle times and output rate per hour for each product so that future capacity can be planned more efficiently.
  • You will perform basic quality checks against product specifications and drawing tolerances.
  • Ensure that productivity targets and customer delivery deadlines are achieved, maintaining our firstclass customer service experience.
  • Engage in regular Lean Manufacturing team meetings to communicate performance and discuss better methods of working.
  • Maintaining a well organised and tidy production facility, adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and ensure compliance with Company policies and training requirements

Personal specification:


  • Good Team worker with a robust performance focus.
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy
  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English
  • To be flexible with working hours overtime/shift work may be required.

Qualifications and experience:


  • Experienced in machine operating or working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of using CAD packages and programming CNC machines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations would be beneficial
  • Forklift licence would be beneficial although full training will be provided
