Are you a recent graduate in Computer Science, or Cyber Security?

The role of the Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer is to monitor and manage the client infrastructure estate and services using the suites of monitoring and maintenance tools currently deployed across the client estate.

The role will involve monitoring all elements of the client's infrastructure, such as, performance of compute (Virtual and Physical), VMware Hypervisors and Clusters, hardware health (Chassis, SAN, Blades), storage capacity, infrastructure services, securitycomponents and backups.

Capacity planning, developing the monitoring systems, housekeeping, threshold configuring.


What you will be doing:


  • Maintain and manage current infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Carry out audits across the infrastructure to ensure device availability is captured
  • Maintenance and production of technical documentation around monitoring tools, including troubleshooting documents for alert types
  • Configuration of infrastructure alerting, define thresholds, create shared dashboards across the infrastructure teams and monthly reporting
  • Capacity planning and reporting for storage
  • Be part of problem management sessions in relation to the client infrastructure and monitoring
  • Work alongside a skilled team of Infrastructure Engineers at the client sites. Escalating alerts for remediation when required.
  • Monitoring of VMware infrastructure, hypervisors and underlying hardware
  • Monitoring of Wintel servers, Linux workloads and Enterprise Storage Platforms
  • Supporting remote customer sites working with multiple infrastructure teams
  • Provide reports on monitoring, availability & capacity to Service Management

What you will bring:


  • Understanding of VMware

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience working in a NOC
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira
  • Scripting around Automation and Monitoring (Powershell, Ansible, etc)
  • SAN and Backup System Management
  • Any Microsoft Certifications
  • Experience working in a large enterprise virtualised environment
  • ITIL Foundation v4 or Intermediate certification
