Working as a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor on ABL's specialist and targeted weight management programme 'Your Health Stockport' you will be working with adults and/or families to support, motivate and advise those who are currently overweight or obese.

You will be passionate about working with individuals to begin the life changing processes necessary for permanent and continued weight loss and weight maintenance.

You will understand challenges and barriers that adults and families face with relation to their health (both physical and mental) and wellbeing.

You will engage with and build a good rapport with adults and families from varying communities across Stockport.

At ABL Health we don't believe in diets but promote long term sustainable change which focuses on evidence-based principles of healthy living.

Some of the essential criteria for the role:

Experience of delivering health promotion / public health interventions in community settings
CIMSPA (previously REPS) qualified Level 2 Gym instructor/Group exercise award or equivalent
Registration with CIMSPA (this can be obtained within 6 months of employment)
Experience working with hard to reach groups and tackling health inequalities
Excellent administration, record keeping and data collection skills
IT literate, preferably with experience using Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent time management and organisational skills
To cope with unpredictable work patterns and work well under pressure
The ability to travel independently across the organisational footprint
Work flexibly and adapt to suit service need including evening and occasional weekend work as required
