£11 Per Hour Plus £65 per sleep in allowance

Purpose of Role & Supporting Information


To work within a Team, to nurture, guide, support and provide direct care to meet the complex needs of Looked After Children in one of our Children's Homes.

To support, encourage and enable the children to make progress, to promote positive outcomes and provide life changing opportunities.

Riverside Lodge is our flagship Home, it can accommodate up to and including 4 Looked After Children.

The Home is substantial in size and is placed in a tranquil setting to offer children the opportunity to grow and develop in a Home that we are very proud of.

The Home is registered with Ofsted as we believe in providing and evidencing a high standard of Care.


Responsibilities


Responsible for working alongside individual Care Plans, to provide; age-appropriate advice, help, support and guidance for children who have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties.

Supports, advises and assists the children on day-to-day health, social and emotional wellbeing issues and implements routines and boundaries relevant to their individual plans.


You will be expected to attend/participate and contribute in relevant meetings with regards to the child and their individual Care Planning.

To work alongside the policies and procedures, which ensure that the service provision is compliant. You will be expected to populate and complete records electronically by upholding confidentiality and GDPR.


Responsible for planning and co-ordinating with other professionals/agencies as required by a Child's individual Care Plan, to ensure that the assessed needs of Looked After young people are met.

Working effectively together is paramount whilst striving to meet the needs of Children in Care.


Is responsible for implementing all individual and relevant Care Plans ensuring a child's primary care needs, including the administering of medication, facilitating health and social care appointments are adhered to.

This ensures that Shore Care Services in delivering its statutory corporate parenting responsibility for those "looked after children" in our care.


All employees will be expected to comply with all internal policies and Procedures and for providing for the safe running of the Children's Home.

Other tasks such as the preparation of food and meals, whilst ensuring the children's dietary and health requirements are being met, whilst and supporting their wishes and feelings in accordance to daily life and independence skills.


Our Casual Residential Support workers will be expected to manage challenging behaviour in a restorative way whilst implementing the Trauma Recovery Model.


All Casual Residential Workers within the Home will have to complete the relevant Training and Development courses to enable them to meet the needs of the children within the Home.


All Casual RSW are to hold a driving license so that they are able to transport the children and young people, which is required on a daily basis.


Supervision


All Casual Residential Support Workers working within the Home will be provided with a 4-6 weekly supervision and an annual appraisal.

An experienced and established Residential Support Worker who is also competent at Shift We strive to nurture and support one another as we work as a team to support and progress the children within our care.


Initiative and Creativity


All employees including Casual team members working within the Home are encouraged and empowered to find innovative solutions when supporting our children to meet their individual needs.

We want the adults within the Home to demonstrate creativity in creating and developing individual programs and routines to promote consistency and continuity within.

Effective communication is paramount between children, families and other connected persons to achieve optimum and effective working relationships.

Can implement and formulate innovative methods, when required, to motivate and engage children to enable them to reach their maximum potential and create a positive future.

Discretion
To undertake direct work with looked after children and their families, with the implementation of a Placement Plan.

Respond imaginatively to the unpredictable situations that can occur whilst carrying out a Corporate Parenting Role with "looked after children".

The Residential Support Worker will use their discretion and creativity to implement the plan whilst being able to meet the individual needs.

All adults working within the Home need to be adaptable to change whilst implementing a restorative and reflective approach.
