We are looking for a UE06 Senior Research Contracts Officer (Research Grants Administrator) to provide pre
- and post
- award support to academic researchers and investigators of The Roslin Institute and Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies (R(D)SVS) on the Easter Bush Campus.


This role is responsible for the capture and analysis of finance and resources of externally funded research activity as they influence the overall finance and resources position for both The Roslin Institute and R(D)SVS on the Easter Bush Campus.


This post is open ended (permanent) and full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns.

We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • [HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus relevant grants administration/accounts experience (within HE sector); demonstrating development through involvement in progressively more demanding relevant work/roles
  • Excellent accountancy and numeracy skills, with some knowledge of job costing and awareness of financial/budget modelling
  • High quality communication and relationship building skills with evidence of the ability to persuade and negotiate
  • High level of analytical and organisational skills with accuracy and attention to detail. Enthusiasm and commitment for working in a varied and busy role, with a strong sense of service delivery.
