Head of Operations

Reports to:
Managing Director

We are a fast-growing specialist in connecting businesses to the electricity grid at scale. We are buzzing with opportunity and very much part of the shift to net zero.


The Head of Operations will have a strategic vision for implementing a forward-thinking project delivery strategy, driving operational excellence, and optimising production levels.

You will be responsible for managing the Operations Team & Project Managers and will be driving service delivery for EV charging points and grid connection projects across the UK.

This position will be based at our Operations Head Office in Sandon, but you may be required to travel to site and hybrid working is also available.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Taking responsibility for operational reporting, projects, results and spend
  • Leadership of the operational functions across the business within material supply, project delivery and business planning
  • Ensuring the operational functions across the business to achieve budget targets, KPI's whilst maintaining quality and delivery commitments
  • Develop internal operations strategy to support the business development
  • Identification of and mitigating action of risks within all operational and project led plans
  • Help the business achieve yearly and monthly sales
  • Capacity analysis of people, materials, plant & fleet. Define and manage resource requirements in terms of space, efficiency, staff resource, tools and equipment to meet commitments and future growth requirements
  • Internal liaison with other departments within the business
  • Creating a culture of continuous improvement and supporting initiatives, risks and opportunity management
  • Working with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure of H&S requirements are supported, maintained and updated and KPI's are met
  • Support the Tendering/Bid Team & Project Managers

Knowledge/Experience/Skills

  • Proven background in Electrical Grid Connections
  • Excellent Electrical/Civil Engineering technical background
  • Experience of developing and implementing Operational strategies to aid continuous company improvement and growth
  • Experience of developing and setting strategic direction
  • Senior Operations Management and Leadership experience within an ICP or Electrical Grid Connections business
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to drive and motivate other and achieve KPI's/targets
  • Selfmotivated, able to work under pressure
  • Strategic thinker
  • Ability to implement and sustain Continuous Improvement activity

Our services run throughout the lifecycle of a project all the way from inception through to final connection and handover.

Salary:
£60,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
