ROLE:
PART TIME TECHNICAL ASSISTANT / IT SUPPORT

With the growth of the business, we have an excellent opportunity to join our team in a new role; Part Time Technical Assistant/IT Support.

The role has the ability to develop into a full-time position for the right person, with the opportunity to spot business needs to further develop the role.


Key Responsibilities will include:

IT Representative

  • Main representative/contact on behalf of Bill Cleyndert & Company to our IT Partners; IT support provider, phone system provider, software providers
  • Oversee all internal IT projects on behalf of the team and business as the main contact for IT
  • Work with Senior Management to identify the business IT needs
  • Be the onsite IT representative for the team
  • Request and arrange quotes for new IT hardware within the business
  • Attend a quarterly review with our external IT support
  • Develop an understanding of our Drawing Office CAD 3D modelling software to assist where required and liaise with the provider on behalf of the business

General Responsibilities

  • Organise equipment for new employees to the job role specification and hardware requirements with clear direction to our external IT support for set up
  • Oversee internal IT set ups
  • Negotiate quotations for new equipment and IT requirements
  • Organise and oversee our internal phone system updates and upgrades
  • Agreeing and signing off completion of IT projects to complete
  • Introduce and maintain an internal IT hardware inventory
  • Occasional support to our Marketing Department (website etc.)

Annual Responsibilities

  • Oversee negotiations for annual software renewals and upgrades and role out to the team
  • Maintain business software license logs, including SolidWorks, SWOOD and DraftSight
  • Review and maintain the business IT security infrastructure

Projects

  • Review our server system and capacity with our external IT support to formalise a five+ year plan for growth
  • Develop and merge an internal IT user hardware inventory with our IT support companies inventory
  • Review what hardware requires upgrading within departments with implementation
  • Review and oversee our internal phone system to merge both offices onto the same infrastructure
  • Review of our internal IT and desk set up with the opportunity to suggest improvements for users productivity

Required Skills & Experience
Experience in IT and Microsoft programs, tech savvy, capable of prioritising projects and good communication skills. You will need to be proactive and driven and work well within a team.

You will have a good understanding of internal IT systems and the latest technology, with great problem-solving skills and strong commercial awareness.

Do you also have experience with graphic design or Photoshop? This could be an advantage to assist our Marketing Team.

The position is primarily based at our North Norfolk workshop, located on the former RAF Sculthorpe Airbase (once the Chapel to Air Force servicemen) on the outskirts of Fakenham with occasional visits to our Norwich workshop.
