Description

Support the execution of John Crane's growth strategy through the development of strategic partnerships with customers, mainly driven by mechanical seal reliability programs, rotating equipment reliability, asset performance management, sustainability, digital solutions and other expanded services.


  • Identify and qualify profitable top line growth opportunities and potential risks, implementing action plans to develop and mitigate them, while supporting John Crane' sales team to grow/defend the business while
  • Provide strategic and tactical business development support to JC Europe sales & aftermarket regional and local sales teams, ensuring an effective and impactful participation of the Business Solution team in contract negotiations with customers, including frame agreements, primary supplier agreements, reliability agreements and expanded services contracts encompassing digital solutions and emissions reduction services.
  • Manage relationships with specific selected customers at corporate level, collaborating with category managers and procurement leads, reliability SME, sustainability managers and Legal teams0 as needed, looking forward to successfully conducting the complete contract development process and always in alignment with John Crane's sales & aftermarket team.
  • Provide support to ensure successful service contract delivery activities and customer success, engaging as needed with John Crane's project management office (PMO), field service team and other functional support groups as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support John Crane's sales team to prospect, understand voice of customer (needs and motivators) and customize solutions, providing high impact presentations, understanding the customer decisionmaking processes and assisting in the overall development of new contract opportunities.
  • Support all contract renewal processes, looking forward to securing John Crane's business while also seeking profitable top line growth opportunities through the expansion of the current service and product offering.
  • Prepare and submit internal business cases for John Crane's top management and board level approval as required in order to participate in major bids and complex sales opportunities.
  • Participate in John Crane's internal strategic discussions and commercial planning, being part of the Business Solutions Global Leadership Team.
  • Monitor market trends in mechanical seal reliability, rotating equipment bestpractices, asset management, greenhousegases emissions mitigation and others, always seeking innovation.
  • Identify End-ToEnd service innovation and expansion opportunities and new potential competitive advantages for John Crane.

The Individual

  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineer, with previous experience managing people.
  • Sales, solution selling or business development background (minimum 10 years industry experience required).
  • Team building, coaching, team player with collaborative approach, high energy level, dynamic, emotional intelligence, hunting profile and a winning mindset.
  • Leadership, strategic thinking, change agent, winwin negotiation and high impact communication.
