Green Park are proud to exclusively partner with a leading youth violence charity, whose work and mission is to create a society where all young people live healthy, safe and happy lives.


Green Park are supporting them in their quest to secure a seasoned COO to help steer the organisation to new levels of success.

With a blend of senior people management and operational responsibilities, this role will suit a commercially minded, people focusedCOO who is an experienced and talented mentor/leader, with a demonstrable track record in a NfP, Safeguarding and/or charity environment.

This is an extremely exciting position for an established results driven Chief Operating Officer who is values led.

The COO will be a visible, inclusive and collaborative senior leader, ensuring delivery of the organisations vision to provide the highestpossible standards across all support services.

They will ensure the provision of appropriate and cost-effective support services, providing strategic advice to the Board on the development and delivery of the organisation's strategy.

They will drive organisationalperformance and will provide strategic advice to the Board of Trustees on operational management and performance.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that support services and service delivery are planned and delivered in accordance with the organisation's strategic plan, policies, budgets and working methodologies to enable the organisation's to achieve its strategic aim of being a gold standardorganisation. Ensure that the organisational structure facilitates efficient working across the organisation and is able to flex for appropriate new opportunities.
  • Lead on the creation of the organisation's annual business plan and facilitate regular reporting and monitoring of key indicators to ensure that the organisation is delivering its strategic objectives in line with organisational strategy. Adapt the annualplan on a quarterly basis to ensure the organisation is working within capacity. Ensure effective communication of the strategy within the organisation so that everyone knows how their role contributes to its implementation.
  • Lead activities to develop, maintain and monitor critical path projects which have strategic importance and/or for projects where the Chief Executive's awareness and/or involvement is essential. Keeping the Chief Executive appraised of the status of projectsand variations from agreed plans (especially timescales, finances and human resources).
  • Design and implement effective change management and adoption strategies and resulting processes to ensure that the culture and behavioural change required to realise the organisation's strategy is achieved.
  • Ensure that the organisation's policies and procedures are effective and are regularly reviewed and updated, including safeguarding, data protection, and equality and diversity.
  • Ensure that all contractual agreements, SLAs, MOUs and SOPs are effectively considered and assessed.

Person Specification

  • Significant experience of senior leadership roles within the charity sector.
  • Experience as a HR or people director.
  • Experience of oversight of finance and fundraising functions.
  • Wideranging project management experience, including contributing to ongoing planning, review and development, quality assurance, change management and problemsolving.
  • Experience of developing services that have demonstrable impact, and of delivering against demanding targets.
