Our Innovation team have a brand-new role for a Project Support Officer on a fixed term basis until January 2025.

In this role, you will play a crucial role in overseeing project progress and assisting project leads in ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality project delivery.

As an integral part of the team, you'll engage collaboratively across the organisation, providing comprehensive support for various projects within the Electric Vehicle portfolio.


Joining a dynamic team of four experienced professionals, you'll play a pivotal role in diverse projects such as Local EV Infrastructure delivery, the 2027 Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress, and our newly established Intelligent Transport Lab.

This presents an excellent opportunity for you to take the lead in our project teams, spearheading seamless coordination, efficient communication, and meticulous documentation.

It's a genuine chance for professional growth as you contribute to innovative and high-profile projects.


We need someone who has strong attention to detail, is highly proactive and understands the importance of being a team player.


What you will be doing

  • Support the delivery of capital projects and approved revenue funded projects for both internal facing and external parties.
  • Provide support in the management of the approved project budget.
  • Support in the identification and management of risks and issues on projects.
  • Support in the management of procurement activities
  • Produce and support on the internal and external project reporting.
  • Build internal and external stakeholder awareness and support development of plans and new opportunities.

Location

WMCA operates a hybrid way of working, which involves a combination of office-based work and remote work. This approach allows for flexibility and adaptability to meet individual needs and preferences.

The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane.

It is expected that you can split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 1 day a week spent in the office.
