What you'll do


This role forms a critical part of Vodafone's in-house media team, taking full strategic and operational accountability of all biddable digital media disciplines (Search, Social, YouTube and Programmatic display).

The role and the team it represents, delivers against Vodafone's operating principles of transparency, ownership, and independence.


Success in this role at Vodafone will depend heavily on your technical digital media expertise and experience, your skills in leading a team and your ability to work well in an extremely fast-paced and demanding environment, where communication and collaboration across teams is key.


Key accountabilities include:

  • Overall biddable media leadership function and team to deliver advanced, effective, smooth, and efficient operations.
  • Overall accountability for biddable media campaign operations: business / budget / channel choices.
  • Key integration point internally: Brand / Performance / Consumer Business Unit / Enterprise Business Unit / Segments.
  • Key integration point with agency: across traditional & digital media planning / buying.
  • Accountable for operational and planning strategy / executional performance, as well as technology / vendor / partner leadership (Google, Facebook, Twitter, DSPs, SSPs), innovation, training, best practice etc.
  • Drive audience strategy across all biddable channels for execution by account team.
  • Work closely with the UK Media Planning team in the development of strategic and operational best practice.
  • Create a centre of excellence for all Biddable Media, becoming a key focal point for the discipline.
  • Drive the biddable media training and development agenda, to ensure continuous improvement for Vodafone talent, keeping abreast of key trends and developing thought leadership in these areas.
  • Set and measure operational effectiveness through ongoing process / capability auditing.

Who you are


You must have several years of experience managing the day-to-day strategy and activation of Search, YouTube, Social and programmatic display platforms.

Experience is essential, having managed large scale consumer accounts, with performance accountability and senior stakeholder reporting.

In addition to this, you will have:

  • Relevant management experience in media industry
  • client, agency or consultancy side.
  • Handson and operational experience of search, social and programmatic technology platforms,
  • Experience in negotiating trading agreements with DSP's, SSP's, Trade decks etc.
  • Brand and performance planning experience essential, demonstrating knowledge in harnessing data and technology to deliver accountable media outcomes.
  • Good data management and analytical skills, with knowledge and experience in using first party data integrations and personalisation to improve performance.
  • Good knowledge of analytics including data driven attribution and market mix modelling.
  • Proven trackrecord of driving projects and creating impact through pragmatic problemsolving.
