Job Summary
The role primarily involves picking and packing orders.

Whilst we only tend to have between 10 and 30 orders per day, we sell specialist laboratory equipment so a high duty of care is needed in packing and handling of orders.

Many of the orders are shipped internationally, so you will need to be comfortable using computers, so that you can complete necessary customs information.

Documentation will include export licenses, EUR1 certificates and more - no experience is required in this area, just excellent computer skills and a desire to learn.

About Us:

Our hard-working team collect second-hand laboratory and research equipment from a number of prestigious UK universities, and sell these items onto hospitals, schools, and research laboratories across the world.

Since 2016, our team have processed, packaged and shipped over 500,00kg of unwanted research equipment to new owners.

We have also supplied equipment to several movies and TV shows as props (including the Jurassic World movie) and have supplied equipment to a wide range of global buyers including NASA.

For our teams' work, we have won numerous awards including being named the Start-up Company of the Year by the 2017 Welsh Business Awards.

About the Role:

This position is a highly dynamic Despatch Operative and Customs Processor role consisting of four key work areas:

Parcel packaging of fragile, specialist and unique products: Microscopes, glassware, antique items, precision weighing scales etc.

Pallet preparation for larger items:
Laboratory Centrifuges, Lab Dishwashers, Incubators, Gym equipment and much more.

General warehouse operations when required - moving pallets, picking stock, loading vehicles etc.

Whilst many of the produts are fragile, they are also heavy, and the role is a physically demanding position requiring significant amounts of manual handling.

About You:

To fulfil the role, you must have excellent IT skills and be highly motivated. We need someone who is keen to get orders out whilst also maintaining quality in the packing.

It is also important that you feel comfortable both working under direct supervision to meet targets, as well as self-motivating yourself when working independently.

Other Considerations:

The position is strictly non-smoking only.

You must have a valid driving licence and your own transport as our location has limited public transport options especially during the morning hours.

Do you have experience working in a warehouse and if not, would you be comfortable working with pallet trucks and other warehouse equipment on a daily basis?
Do you consider yourself to have pride in your work and do you have experience completing work where maintaining high quality is important?
Within the role, you will need to book shipping labels, manage stock locations, and complete international shipping documents using online portals. Do you have any experience working on computer systems that would be transferable to these sorts of tasks?
Are you comfortable working in stressful situations where you may need to balance multiple priorities for orders swiftly and professionally against tight deadlines?
