Description

Clinical Engineering provides a service throughout NHS Tayside and external customers serving the population of Dundee, Angus, Perth & Kinross and North East Fife.


Our Clinical Engineering comprises of four disciplines Electronics, Renal, Mechanical, and Anaesthetics, which comprises of four workshops in Ninewells Hospital and one in Perth Royal Infirmary.

Each workshop provides a service, which comprises of repair, service and calibration of patient critical equipment. Plus working with the multidisciplinary team to ensure equipment is fit for purpose and safe to use. Provide technical support to the nursing and medical staff within NHS Tayside. Full onsite and offsite training will be provided on equipment utilised within the scope of the Clinical Engineering teams.


Section Technical Teams comprising of, a Technical Lead Band 7 (Team Leads) x4, Band 6 Specialist Technologists x9 and Band 5 Technologists x10.

Providing support to our multi-disciplinary team by maintain patient equipment in the Acute Sector as well as in the Primary Care Sector and the community.

Flexibility in working hours will be expected and a member of the voluntary on call service is desirable.


This post provides technical and administrative support for the Clinical Engineering Department carrying out tasks such as basic technical jobs servicing, calibration checks and repairs plus administrative tasks such as filing, scanning documents, answering telephones, managing stock control, dealing with the mufti disciplinary teams, providing support to our Service Contract and Equipment Library Teams.

Dealing with goods in and out and keeping accurate records.


The post holder is affiliated to Support Services and will provide various types of support to Renal, Mechanical and Anaesthetics Workshops.

The post holder will report managerially and technically to the Support Services Team Lead, who will provide support, manage the day to day workload and allocate tasks.

The ability to walking within the hospital is essential.

Hours of work are: 37.5
