Personal Injury Solicitor / Paralegal

An experienced team of solicitors providing trusted support and expert advice in various legal matters with offices in the heart of Nottingham, Leicester, and Birmingham is offering a hybrid position for a Personal Injury Solicitor/Paralegal to join them intheir Birmingham office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Handle a full caseload of RTA Litigation matters
Working knowledge of RTA claims, MOJ stages 1, 2 & 3 and new OIC portal.
Proven experience and ability to handle a mixture of off portal and Litigated RTA cases
Credit Hire experience highly desirable
Be able to work independently with mínimal supervision
Demonstrate that they can cope well under pressure
Demonstrate that they can meet tight Court deadlines
Build strong relationships with clients
Work towards specific deadlines and targets
Show ability to use CPR and Case Law effectively
Carry out file reviews and Risk Assessments
Attend Conferences with Clients and Barristers
Drafting Applications

Skills and Attributes:

Independently handling own caseload
Drafting Pleadings, Witness Statements, Disclosure Lists
Preparation for Trial including bundles, Briefs to Counsel, Conferences
Experience in dealing with Court attendances for Infant Approval Hearings, Application Hearings and Case Management Conferences
Experience in dealing with Credit Hire, Storage, and Recovery
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with clients, other parties, and colleagues.
Demonstrate good 'people skills' for building relationships with colleagues at all levels
Have the ability to plan and prioritise your caseload effectively

Experience:

Previous experience of managing your own caseload of Fast Track RTA Portal claims, or hands on experience of managing tasks relating to such cases
Experience of handling a case load of RTA portal claims is essential and an understanding of the portal process will be highly beneficial.
Excellent negotiator with strong communication skills
Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office
Good attention to detail and organisational skills
Litigation experience
Focus on delivering quality service to clients and the firm
At least 1 year of independent/case management and litigation experience

Vacancy information:

Location: Birmingham hybrid
Salary Range: £19,000 £45,000 per annum DOE
