Program Development:
- Develop and implement ageappropriate activities for children, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Create lesson plans and sessions that cater to different skill levels and individual needs.
- Incorporate fun and creative exercises and games to keep children engaged and motivated.
Coaching and Training:
- Instruct children on proper techniques, rules, and strategies for various sports.
- Demonstrate and explain fundamental skills, ensuring safety
- Organise and conduct practice sessions, providing feedback and encouragement.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment that promotes teamwork and personal growth.
- Build a strong rapport with children.
Safety and Supervision:
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during sports activities, following established safety guidelines and protocols.
- Monitor participants for any signs of distress, injury, or inappropriate behavior, taking appropriate action when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organised space, free from hazards or potential risks.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff members to coordinate schedules.
- Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and stay uptodate with current trends and practices.
- To record and report incidents related to injuries and safeguarding.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience coaching or working with children in a sports environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience in one or more sports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with children of different ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement ageappropriate training sessions and activities.
- First Aid and Safeguarding certification (preferred).
- Knowledge of child development and the ability to adapt coaching techniques accordingly.
- Positive role model with a passion for promoting physical a healthy lifestyle.
Duration:
Successful applicants will be asked to attend a one-day training event. Date of this TBC.
Start date:
Monday 24th July
End date:
Thursday 17th August
A total of four weeks, Monday - Thursday
Times:
Times will either be 9.30am - 3pm or 8.30am - 3pm (dependant on location)
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Freelance, Zero hours contract
Part-time hours: 25 per week
Salary:
£8.00-£12.00 per hour
