We are currently for Graduates in the Carnforth area to work as Teaching Assistants in a SEND school.

This is a great opportunity if you are a graduate and considering a career within education, you may be considering becoming a Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Education Psychologist or Physiotherapist.


The successful graduates will be working within a school setting for pupils with SEND needs. You may be working with pupils with Autism, Down syndrome, Dyslexia, physical disabilities or mental health needs.


The Ideal applicant

  • Will have a degree or equivalent
  • Some experience of working with young people either in a volunteer capacity or work capacity
  • Experience of young people or adults with disabilities or mental health needs
  • Compassionate, calm and caring personality
- a passion for working in the education sector


The Role

  • You will be working part of a team of TAs to assist the teacher in delivering lessons to small groups of pupils
  • Ensure there is always a safe and nurturing environment for pupils with safeguarding always as a priority
  • The chance to work with third party providers such as Speech and Language therapists, Occupational therapists, music and art therapists.
  • You must be able to communicate effectively within the team and with the outer team this is crucial to a safe environment for the pupils
  • You will learn new communication techniques through ipads and sign language such as BSL and Makaton
  • The chance to attend in house SEND specific training sessions


School hours are generally between 8:30 and 3:30, the work will be term time with the same school holidays as the pupils.

We offer flexible days which can fit around university work if applicants are currently studying.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm

Part-time hours: 6-35 per week


Salary:
£75.00-£85.00 per day
