REED Accountancy & Finance are working closely with a well known and reputable client in the outskirts of Belfast and are actively recruiting for a Payments Clerk to join their large team.

The Role:


Reporting to the Payments Manager, the post holder will have a good knowledge of the purchase ledger function and will be responsible for the prompt payment of purchase invoices ensuring all payments are made within credit terms.


Specific duties will involve:

Select/deselect purchase invoices due for payment. Checking that all payments are made within credit terms
Reconciliation of payment to creditors statement
Preparing of remittance advices for cheques/bacs payments attaching invoices/statements to cheques for signature
Posting of paid cheques/ Bacs to creditors ledger
Preparation of sundry cheque payments
Distribution of cheques to suppliers
Dealing with supplier's queries
General office tasks including filing, photocopying, dealing with telephone queries


Knowledge of Coins computerised system would be an advantage

Whilst not essential, knowledge of sub-contractors CIS/RCT would be an advantage

The Person:

Applicants will have previous purchase ledger experience and will be organised, efficient and capable of meeting deadlines

Applicants will have previous construction industry experience (preferred)

Applicants will have excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve outstanding queries
