An exciting opportunity has arisen for an
EXPERIENCED legal assistant to join our expanding family focused firm in Hull.
Previous experience working in a private client department/wills & probate is preferred but not essential. Legal experience is required.
The role:
- Ensuring the smooth flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the department
- Word processing all necessary documents from handwritten notes or transcribing recorded dictation
- File management
- Opening and closing files, photocopying and filing
- Answering the telephone, handling calls, making routine calls and taking messages
- Covering reception duties as and when required
- Managing Fee Earner diaries, organising internal and external meetings
- Supporting other members of the team in the performance of their duties
- Providing support to other members of staff in the department or across the firm
- Liaising with clients and client care
- Friendly and approachable manner
- A team player, who is supportive and encouraging of others
- Enthusiastic and confident in administrative work
- Previous experience working in a private client department/wills & probate
preferred: - Knowledge and evidence of understanding private client law will be an advantage at interview stage
- You will need to be able to manage large workloads effectively and be productive under pressure
- Experience in audio and copy typing
- Experience of use of IT systems; digital dictation, case management, MS Word and Outlook
- Ability to work with initiative and minimum supervision
- Integrity to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Excellent organisational skills ability to prioritise
