Better Placed are pleased to be working with a leading food and drinks business and they are looking for a Category Manager to join their team


As the Category Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to drive profitable growth of the categories for their retail partners and the business, alongside driving overall category growth for their customers.

You will work as part of the multifunctionalcommercial team, providing category expertise, analysis, and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.


The Role:


  • To identify and share in an engaging and action orientated way, the latest category trends. The reasons behind market trends and the implications and opportunities for the company and customers
  • Supporting the development of the category strategy and the tailoring for customers
  • Alignment and integration between the category strategy and the customer play to deliver future growth
  • To be the lead on range reviews form space, flow, assortment, and SKU distribution.
  • To support business cases for NPD opportunities with the customers
  • Carry out seasonal reviews to identify future opportunities for growth

The Person:


  • 5+ years of FMCG experience including Category Management
  • Highly numerate
  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to deliver actionable insight
  • Able to articulate data concepts
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Advanced user of Kanter, IRI, Nielsen, plus loyalty data
  • Strong presentational skills
  • Commercially aware
