We are currently looking to appoint a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible Band 7 Senior Systems Administrator who specializes in networking technologies to join the Digital & Information Infrastructure Team.


The role will be based at the City Hospital Campus or the QMC campus, you may be expected to travel to other NHS organizations or Supplier premises.

Digital Services provides services at the City Hospital Campus, Queen's Medical Centre Campus, and Ropewalk.

It comprises a multi-disciplinary team of professional staff providing a wide range of services in computing both technical and non-technical, business management, and telecommunications.

Extensive knowledge and experience of major IT infrastructure such as but not limited to network security products (DS/IPS), firewalls, and managing wireless network technologies and network switches in a large campus environment.

Extensive knowledge and experience in network design and data cabling standards.

Extensive knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP

Knowledge and experience with server operating systems.

Knowledge and experience in administering security solutions to prevent cybersecurity incidents.

Knowledge and experience in fault diagnostics and mitigation planning

Strong communication and document writing skills

Flexibility to ensure the network infrastructure has the high availability required.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent technical qualification & experience.
Desirable criteria

  • Has a CCNA

  • Experience in managing supporting a large Enterprise network infrastructure

  • Has experience of supporting IT in a healthcare setting

  • Extensive experience in managing network switches in a large campus environment.

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
