The Diocese of Leeds has a vision to see children, young people and their families growing confident in faith and fully involved in the mission and ministry of the church as it seeks to transform lives and communities.


You will need to be highly motivated, an excellent team player and an advocate for children and young people with experience of both delivering training and children and youth work in a church setting.


The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • The post holder will work as part of the Children, Young People and Families team to engage in the development of missional Intergenerational Worship across the diocese, ensuring good practice.
  • Provide the Training Lead for the Children, Young People and Families Missional Toolkit
  • Working with the team leader and diocesan colleagues, to facilitate a community to support Messy Church groups to flourish missionally.
  • As appropriate, develop links with organisations specialising in Intergenerational Mission and ministry; including Messy Church, Jesus Shaped People, The Estates Network and various ecumenical links.
  • Coordinate the Children, Young People and Families Team engagement with Social Media
  • Support the Children, Young People and Families Team engagement with promoting Wellbeing and Inclusion for Children, Young People and Families.
  • With colleagues, promote and enable the widening of opportunities for young people's personal and spiritual development, providing access for young people to local, regional, national Christian networks.
  • Contribute to uptodate toolkit of resources for children and youth ministry for use by parishes, including on line resource links.
  • Promote good, inclusive and safe working practices in all areas of working.


A competitive package includes a competitive salary, flexi-time scheme, reimbursement of car and travelling expenses, an 8% non-contributory pension with an additional 5% matched contributions, hybrid working (50%), and 25 days' (pro rata) annual leave plus bank holidays and four customary days a year (between Christmas and New Year).
