Role Profile
**My client, an established engineering business in the Stockport area, is looking to appoint a Supplier Quality Engineer.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful business with a range of high profile customers and you will play a key part in developing the supplier base in order to ensure they can meet the business' current and future needs.

Key responsibilities:

Support supplier evaluation process to select and onboard new suppliers with the required capabilities (cost, quality, capacity)
Analyse performance of existing suppliers through scorecards and techniques such as 8D, APQP and FMEA
Develop existing supplier base to drive improvements and ensure they have the necessary technical expertise for NPD projects and new product launches
Utilise lean techniques and quality tools such as 8D, SPC and FMEA to implement and monitor against continuous improvement plans

**Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a supplier facing quality role such as Supplier Quality Engineering or Supplier Development
Background in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/HND level qualification as a minimum)
Intermediate Excel skills
Strong communication and relationship building skills
Proven track record of delivering supplier audits and supplier development plans to drive improvements and increase capability within the supply chain
Willingness to undertake regular business travel in the UK
