Innovation Process Lead - Brighton / Hybrid / WFH

£65,000 - £70,000 plus benefits - this is a 12 month FTC, but there will be plenty of opportunities with the business to progress - based in Brighton, but very flexible of being in the office 1 or 2 times per week


The Innovation Process Lead (official job title Innovation Lead) will form part of a diverse Innovation Team, working on a wide range of projects and programmes, using clearly defined processes and methodologies to help quickly define challenges, develop ideas, and collaborate with teams and individuals, both inside and outside the organisation, to achieve tangible outcomes.

The Innovation Process Lead is a challenging but rewarding role as it is offers the opportunity to work across the entire business, from Engineering to Customer Service, IT to Water / Wastewater Operations:

  • The solutions you deliver to the organization will be to the benefit of their customers and to the environment reducing pollution, promoting sustainability, and offering a high-level service.

  • This role has a focus on, critical thinking, analytical, technical problems solving, identifying the heart of the issue, and finding tangible solutions to issues.

The Innovation Process Lead will be:

  • Experienced in innovation practice with demonstrable experience of end-to end innovation project delivery.
  • An excellent communicator with a natural ability to build credibility to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders and drive change in behaviour.
  • A creative thinker, and a problem solver, able identify issues and offer a fresh perspective on existing challenges, developing new insights, empowered to make decision and drive resolutions.
  • An inspiring leader with a natural ability to manage people to enable them to perform at their best.
  • Resilient, understanding and being able to adapt approach or communication to suit target group
Desirable competence;

  • Understand customer and user behaviour / ethnography.
  • Create relevant experimental design.
  • Conducting user research and testing.
  • Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback.
  • Create personas through user research and data.

The Innovation Process Lead core responsibilities will be:

  • Producing sustainable improvement solutions, plans that will drive performance improvement, and change activity.
  • Managing Solution Development projects with crossfunctional teams, to diagnose the root cause and develop solutions for problems, including identification of inefficient business processes and provide solutions.
  • Dealing with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to understand future needs.
  • Building credible ideas into earlystage propositions, testing assumptions with customers and other stakeholders, testing desirability of propositions and building associated commercial models.
  • Piloting, testing, and updating MVPs, and if pilot is successful then coach the implementation of the initiative in the wider business, supported by a strong benefits case.
  • Also, you will be responsible for producing sustainable improvement solutions, plans that will drive performance improvement and change activity
