We are looking to recruit a psychology graduate for an established post in the community dementia team, based primarily in our team bases at Telford and Shrewsbury in Shropshire.

The post will initially be for one year fixed
- term.

The successful applicant will have a minimum 2:1 degree in psychology (or equivalent such as a relevant Master's degree).

You should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to working with older people and/or individuals whose lives have been impacted by dementia.

As the post holder will be providing input across a wide geographical area, some degree of travel is likely to be required.

Extensive supervision will be provided to support the post holder and there will be opportunities to contribute to and participate in continuing professional development within the speciality and in the wider Trust.

We are also keen to promote involvement in research opportunities.

The post will provide a varied work role but will focus primarily on the assessment and diagnosis of dementia.

The post will therefore involve extensive administration of standardised psychometric tests and previous experience of neuropsychological measures such as the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) will be a significant asset.

It is anticipated that tele-neuropsychology on digital platforms will be required alongside occasional face-to-face assessment.

We are a supportive team committed to delivering high-quality care in difficult times. You will join us in a period of change following transformation of mental health services in the region.

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) is an award winning organisation with over 9000 employees.

We are one of the largest integrated Health and Social Care providers, covering services across North & South Staffordshire, Shropshire, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Isle of Wight and Essex.

We are embedding values based and inclusive recruitment practices to ensure that all applicants, from any backgrounds, have an equal chance of success in achieving a role with us.

Please see supporting document for further details.

The post holder will provide support in the screening, assessment and support of people undergoing a dementia assessment, their carers and those with an established diagnosis with ongoing needs.

The successful post holder may also be expected to provide input with colleagues in other aspects of clinical provision including cognitive stimulation therapy, carer education/support and management of behaviours that challenge.
