A superb new role has arisen within a long established Bank based near St Albans

The role is hybrid working


Purpose
Build relationships with a wide range of people across the business is a key requirement for a Risk Manager. Providing through leadership on Operational risk matters. Experienced and strong influencing and communication skills for stakeholder management.


_Accountabilities_

The incumbent is responsible for:

  • Facilitating Risk and Control Self-Assessments with all business areas, providing constructive oversight and challenge to ensure material risks are identified, assessed and appropriately managed;
  • Providing training and education on Operational Risk Events and ensuring event logging process is functioning across the Society;
  • Facilitating Scenario Analysis workshops for core Operational risk scenarios;
  • Maintaining the integrity of Operational risk data and liaising with risk owners to ensure necessary updates;
  • Conducting trend analysis and producing meaningful Operational risk report to the governance committees;
  • Maintaining and updating the Operational risk policy;
  • Facilitating monthly Risk Champions Forum comprised of Risk Champions embedded in all areas to lead positive culture change;
  • Leading and participating in other Risk culture initiatives across the Society.

Qualifications, knowledge & skills

  • Good knowledge and experience in Operational risk management, full familiarity with core tools such as Risk and Control Self-Assessments, Risk Events and Scenario Analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements related to Operational risk
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and influence stakeholders and build and maintain relationships with colleagues at all levels across the Society
  • Ability to work independently when required and work under the pressure of tight deadline
  • Analytical skills, ability to analyse data and produce meaningful reports
  • Good understanding of the financial services industry and/or other regulatory environments.
