We are recruiting a Band 7 Psychological Therapist.

Tower Hamlets Psychological Therapies Serviceworks with adults in a secondary care setting with complex difficulties, including depression, anxiety and trauma.

The post is open to Clinical / Counselling Psychologists and CBT Therapists. Experience in CBT is essential, and experience in DBT, ACT, CFT, Narrative Therapy and EMDR is welcome.


We are looking for someone who can be part of the development of a new service model which will meet the needs of the local population, through working closely with the locality neighbourhood teams and the Community Psychology Service.


The post will suit someone who is flexible and is committed to continuous improvement in co-production with service users and carers.

We are committed to supporting the professional development of staff, and offer various CPD opportunities.

This role can be done with a remote working component, and we support flexible and part-time working arrangements.

To contribute to assessment of clients referred to the service, and offer both group and 1:1 therapy.

CBT experience is essential, with additional training or experience in other modalities desirable. This will include ensuring delivery of screening assessments, interventions and specialist assessment and formulation, in line with professional competencies.

To develop and support the psychosocial work of other staff through teaching, training supervision and consultation.

To provide specialist advice to NHS and voluntary sector agencies concerning the assessment, treatment and management of service users.

Follow defined practices and procedures under the management and co-ordination of a senior psychotherapist/psychologist. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice.

To take part in Quality Improvement projects within the team. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.


Participate in CPD and other developmental activities, keeping up to date with relevant psychological research and national guidance (DoH, NICE etc).
