Description

An established modular off-site construction group are looking to recruit a temporary Project Manager to manage a Modular build project for a 4 month contract in Orpington,South London.

This could be extened or move to another project afterwards.


The role:


As an experienced Project Manager you will manage the modular Project to a successful, safe and timely completion with zero defects.

You will be the customer and site team's main point of contact during the site construction phase.


Duties:

Delivering a safe and inclusive work environment
Overall project performance and customer satisfaction
Compliance with ISO and BOPAS certified standards
Visible, professional leadership and representation for our customers, team members and suppliers.
Identification and securement of all necessary resources (labour, plant, materials and information) to ensure successful delivery of the works.
Management and monitoring of key subcontractors and suppliers so that they deliver on time and in full.
Maintenance and storage of all key records to support project data capture.
Generation of construction phase plans and key project documentation
Attendance and active participation in project launch meetings
Undertaking of subcontractor progress meetings
Leading collaborative planning exercises to create lean programmes
Generation of, monitoring and reporting against the contract and target programmes
Creation of professional Contractor's Reports for progress meetings with customers
Close liaison with the Production Team to ensure factory completion and site commencement dates align.

Ensuring changes instigated by the customer are effectively communicated to the commercial, procurement and Technical teams so that works information and costings can be updated.

Close liaison with the Technical Design Team to ensure enough information has been produced in time to allow construction.

To offer practical experience to the Technical team to support the development of a cost effective and buildable project design.

Close liaison with the Commercial and Procurement Team to ensure enough resources have been provided in time to allow construction.

Close liaison with the Sales and Marketing team to ensure all marketing opportunities are taken during the build process.

Assisting the commercial and procurement team to ensure subcontract orders have the necessary, clear information required so the right package can be procured.

Early and consistent positive dialogue with the customer team so that works can progress.
Ownership of project stakeholder relationships key to the delivery including statutory providers, building control, planning authorities, local residents etc.
Producing clear photographic weekly reports for Head of Operations.
Ensuring site teams are fully adhering to statutory requirements.
Auditing sites for performance and conformance to an excellent work environment at every opportunity.
Obtaining customer feedback during and on completion of the works

Planning and executing a successful completion phase where customer receives a complete building, on time and with the benefits of all O&M and training information.

Identification of risks and opportunities on each project
Strategies to manage risks and opportunities ensuring M-AR action reduces risk and maximises opportunity.
Taking ownership of the project risk and opportunity register, maintaining and communicating this to the wider team.
Attendance to customer pre-start meetings/ other meetings as required.
Attendance to pre-let meetings.
Reporting issues to Commercial Team where impact may have a detrimental impact on project commercial performance
Undertaking snagging and witnessing of key M&E installations including the collation of commissioning certificates
Presentations to customers as requested.
Populating and developing the lessons learned system with all team members to ensure performance and efficiency improves.
Supporting the development of the Site Managers and other Site based staff and undertaking their regular appraisals.

Accountability:
Overall project delivery, on time, in full with zero defects
Ensuring customers are delighted with our service and feed this back
Achieving project delivery on budget
Issuing weekly project updates to the HoO

The Company:
Off-Site Construction Designer and Manufacturer based in Hull and employ 55 people which is growing year on year. They have been operating for 10 years, although the 3 Directors all have over 25
years' experience in the modular off-site construction industry. They have a growing reputation in the marketplace with projects ranging from £200k to £9.0m and operate nationally throughout
the UK.

Areas of expertise are Education, Healthcare, Rail, Commercial and Off-Site Housing solution to compete with the demands of the Off-Site Housing market.


The Person:


It is likely you will have previously worked as either a Project Manager,Senior Site Manager,Project Manager or Manager in a similar modular building environment.
