Your role as a care assistant:
As care assistant you will be working as part of a friendly, dedicated team of fully supported staff who have our resident's emotional and physical wellbeing at the core of all they do.
You will show a visible leading presence, show warmth, and compassion to our residents and their families; helping to promote their independence and dignity.
You will be required to be flexible as you will be working to a rota, covering both weekdays and weekends.
Bank holiday pay will be enhanced to time and a half and Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Easter Sunday will be paid at double time.
Your duties will include safe administration of medication - using correct procedures and completion of all related paperwork, lead and organise your team- allocating necessary tasks to each team member and ensuring these are carried out correctly, complete all necessary forms including accident, doctor etc, produce a thorough and relevant daily report for each resident and use it to deliver a robust handover to the next shift. You will also be required to assist carers in serving suppers, assisting residents to bed, supporting our residents with management of incontinence products throughout the shift, assisting some residents to wash and dress and serve them breakfast in the morning, while promptly answering the nurse call system when required. You will also be required to maintain the laundry process, including ironing, perform light cleaning duties and peel vegetables for the following day's lunch.
What experience do you need?
You will be fully supported through a robust induction and training program and provided with ongoing training in all mandatory areas and given the opportunity to further develop your qualifications in health and social care.
