    AECOM's Sustainability & Decarbonisation Advisory (SDA) team leads in low carbon design and sustainability in the built environment. We partner with clients to solve complex challenges and build legacies for future generations.

    We seek someone to be our UK lead for consultancy services on decarbonising existing buildings and estates. You will also serve as the Energy Advisory lead for UK and Ireland for our Buildings & Places business line.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Service line leadership: Develop and deliver an annual business plan for consultancy services in this area
    • Work winning: Prepare bids and proposals to win consultancy and strategic advisory work
    • Collaboration: Work with AECOM teams in SDA and beyond to develop winning bids and deliver successful projects
    • Recruitment and line management: Line manage net zero consultants and recruit additional staff as required
    • Project management and delivery of consultancy services, including managing multi-disciplinary teams
    • Client engagement: Engage directly with established and new AECOM clients to understand their sustainability challenges
    • Thought leadership: Prepare thought leadership articles and present at external events to showcase AECOM's expertise

    Requirements:

    • Proven track record of winning work to provide sustainability and net zero consultancy services
    • Significant experience of delivering energy, carbon, and sustainability consultancy services to private and public sector clients
    • Experience of project managing consultancy assignments involving multiple disciplines and/or teams and stakeholders
    • An understanding of the UK policy and regulatory framework relating to energy use and carbon emissions from buildings
    • Detailed knowledge of measures and systems for reducing carbon emissions within the built environment
    • Experience of team working in a consultancy environment, to deadlines and budget

    Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

    • Experience working with key AECOM public clients in the UK (such as UK Government, Universities, Health Trusts, Network Rail, Local Authorities, etc.)
    • Experience with energy and carbon related policy research and development of regulations and guidance
    • Experience preparing Heat Decarbonisation Plans and/or PSDS applications for public sector clients
    • Experience working with Ministry of Defence sites
    • Experience working with commercial real estate clients to develop GHG emissions baselines, science-based targets, and net zero pathways

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A good Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics related discipline (building services and/or energy related qualifications are desirable)
    • A building sustainability/energy related MSc is desirable
    • Chartered status with a relevant institution (e.g., CIBSE, Energy Institute, IMechE, IEMA)
