An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team of Clinical Practice Leads within the theatre department.
Successful applicants will be expected to;- Lead, support and develop staff in all areas of the theatre suite and recovery, across both sites in relation to anaesthetic practice, medical devices and adult/paediatric life support
- Provide support to the Theatre Management team in reviewing and evolving the training programme for new starters and existing staff
Applicants must be registered with the NMC or HCPC.
Should have experience working within the Operating Theatre and be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of Anaesthetic practice within the theatre department.
Applicants must have excellent communication, training, organisational and leadership skills.
Applicants must be self-motivated with a commitment to provide quality training to staff and deliver excellent patient care within the perioperative phase of the patient's journey.
Supporting the operational lead in promoting and implementing the principles of the6C's: Care: Courage: Commitment: Communication: Competence: Compassion as per Trust strategy and the delivery of the departmental/Trust targets.
Actively participating in clinical/Infection prevention audits across the theatre department with development/implementation of action plans
The post holder will be required to work across both Whiston and St Helens sites and must be flexible working weekends and having an on-call commitment, with a possible rotation to night duty.

KEY DUTIES
To facilitate support and develop staff within the operating department including training staff in safe Anaesthetic skills/technique and theatre etiquette/professionalism
To collaborate and work in partnership with clinical colleagues to maximise learning opportunities for theatre staff
To work with and on behalf of the Theatre Management team providing support and advice on staff educational and development matters
To establish robust working relationships with all service users and actively encourage and promote joint working in the pursuit of continuous service improvement
Support the Theatre Management team to achieve meeting agreed financial targets
To adapt and prioritise own workload
To assist and support the Theatre Management team in achieving clinical, operational and corporate objectives
To work with the multi-professional theatre education department in the delivery of effective clinical educational programmes for theatre staff
To support Trust educational department to provide multi-disciplinary training involving but not limited to simulation training
CLINICAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain personal, professional knowledge and clinical competencies as required for NMC/HCPC
In partnership with other stakeholders promote a culture of training, development and evidence based research in the pursuit of clinical excellence
Participate in training of theatre staff to ensure best practice is achieved
To actively participate in selection and recruitment processe
