Job Overview:


In this key role you will provide financial reporting and planning to both senior managers and other key stakeholders and support across the Corporate Finance Team to ensure deadlines are met and internal controls are maintained.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Monthly reconciliation and control clearing of Goods received not invoiced balance (GRNI), working closely with shared service centre (UKSBS) and the business to actively analyse, identify and clear open PO positions
  • Disseminate and control clearing of Invoices on hold, working closely with UKSBS and the business to actively analyse, identify and clear On holds positions
  • Production of the NERC Counterparty and Whole of Government Accounts figures reported to DSIT, our parent department, liaising with entities that NERC transacts with to agree in year transactions and year end balances
  • Cash flow forecasting liaison between Financial Control colleagues and NERC Strategic Finance Business Partners, inputting with NERC monthly cash forecasting requirements
  • Assistance with interim and year end accounts

About You:


  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at various levels; to build good working relationships; and be able to discuss issues with more senior staff
  • Experience of working in a finance department
  • Understand the importance of budgetary control
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks given, show initiative and manage own time effectively
  • Appreciate the importance of accuracy and resolve or contribute to the resolution of problems
  • Able to work effectively and productively in a team and with internal colleagues from different areas
  • A commitment to selfdevelopment
  • Flexible approach to working to meet changing business priorities
  • Proficient IT skills, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
