Ormandy Rycroft Engineering, (ORE), is a Bradford-based engineering concern manufacturing heating and cooling equipment for the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) markets.

Founded over 125 years ago, ORE is well-known and well-respected in the industry segments that it operates in. It employs 80 people at its Bradford site with a turnover of approximately £10 million.

It operates from a 60,000 square foot manufacturing facility and has credible plans to grow to £25 million within the next 5 years.

Avingtrans plc, listed on the London Stock Exchange, bought the assets of ORE in February 2018, and consolidated the business into the Bradford facility.

The business is profitable and, despite the adverse impact of the pandemic on the construction industry, is performing well.

The business is stable having low staff attrition rates and low levels of absenteeism.


Job description
We are looking to recruit a motivated and hard-working Welder/Fabricator to join our team. Reporting to the Bay Supervisor, ideally you will have experience in a similar role. The rate of pay will be £13.00-£15.25 per hour, depending on your experience.

Your duties will involve carrying out fabrication / welding activities on steel and stainless steel pressure vessels as directed your Supervisor / Production Manager.

You will need to be able to read and work to technical drawings

This is a permanent role after completing a 3 month probation period.


Essential Requirements

• Conscientious, diligent, pay attention to detail, reliable, punctual, dependable with an ability to be crosstrained
• Experience on fabricating steel and stainless steel pressure vessels
• Proficient in MIG & TIG welding processes of steel and stainless steel
• Effectively work on your own and as part of a team
• Undertake all reasonable instruction given to you by your supervisor
• Follow all Company Health & Safety site rules
• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures
• Abide by all applicable legislation whilst carrying out your duties
• Must be able to demonstrate good housekeeping skills
• Must take reasonable care not to put other people at risk by what you do in the course of your work
• Not to interfere or misuse anything that has been provided for your health, safety, or welfare
• Not to use any machinery or equipment for which you have not been suitably trained to use

Day shift:
Monday to Thursday Overtime potentially available
