Permanent.**Leicester College's Apprenticeship and Commercial Operations Department is seeking a full-time lecturer to deliver on the Higher Education Construction and Built Environment Apprenticeship programme.

Looking for experienced lecturer to deliver in Construction and the Built Environment with a strong emphasis on Construction Management.


The role will require the successful applicant to deliver to both apprentice and non-apprentice students at HNC (level 4), full and part time students at HND (level 5) and part time students BSc (level 6) in partnership with De Montfort University, Leicester.

As a Lecturer, you will deliver a variety of units across the Higher Education apprenticeship standard.

This Apprenticeship is part of the recently developed Apprenticeship Standards and is a popular course that is offered by the college.

You will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the team responsible for developing and enhancing this programme.

The successful applicant will possess a range of skills relating to Higher Education.

You will work as part of a team, provide feedback in a way that motivates individuals and help learners overcome potential barriers to progress and achieve.

We are looking for a positive, proactive, solutions focused individual to help us drive the provision to support our journey to outstanding.


Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Standards, E - portfolio's (Smart Assessor) and experience of working with students would be beneficial along with excellent communication skills and a 'can do' approach to tasks.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified in vocational area to Level 6 minimum or equivalent.
  • Achieved a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in maths and English.
  • Applicants will be required to hold a full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
  • Experience in delivering higher education programmes, with an emphasis in Construction Technology, CAD, Construction and Project Management, Contracts and Legislation, Tender and Procurement.
  • An ability to develop and improve higher education modules and courses.
  • Grade and feedback on student submissions.
  • Internally verify and quality check grading and feedback.
  • Experience in supporting students in group project work and dissertations.
  • Construction industry experience desirable, but not necessary.
