Main Purpose of Role
- To ensure the SGS Glasgow site is maintained to provide a work environment that meets Company and legislative requirements.
- To provide the support required to maintain the facility and essential plant in good order, including any required assistance to subcontractor engineers when on site.
Key Accountabilities
- To assist with Procurement of Materials and site services.
- Coordinate essential site repairs and maintenance from both Facility team members and subcontractors.
- Provide regular updates to relevant management, for example: on the general cleanliness within a department and any essential repairs that are to be conducted that could cause disruption.
- Regularly liaise with the Facility Manager to keep appraised of workload priorities to ensure any problems which may affect the efficiency of the laboratory are identified and tackled at an early stage.
- Perform all relevant quality control duties in accordance with the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP), Good Laboratory Practise (GLP) guidelines and in accordance with the Company quality policy.
- Maintain the Glasgow facility and essential plant in good working order to ensure that activity at the site is maximised.
- Assist in the negotiating of site maintenance contractors and repairs, including purchase order raising.
- Ensure effective teamwork and communication between Facility and Laboratory teams to ensure an effective and efficient service, in keeping with business objectives, is provided.
- To assist in the managing of the Facility department in the absence of the Facility Manager.
- Engage appropriately qualified maintenance contractors as required to maintain the facility and essential plant.
- Coordinate all applicable statutory safety inspection and/or management programmes for the building.

Essential
- Willingness to partake in appropriate internal and external training
- Good communication skills
- IT skills
- Warehouse and stock control skills
Experience
Essential
- Not essential, training will be given
- Experience of facility management, including health and safety and site security
- Experience of working within a GMP/GLP laboratory
Qualifications
Essential
- Good basic secondary education
- Willingness to participate in training qualifications to gain related skills
- Full driving licence for use in the UK
- Electrical, plumbing and joinery qualifications
