Pay Rate:
£ £15 per hour (assignment rate)


Contract:
Locum, 3-Months


Hours:
Full-time, 31.25 hours per week.

Main Duties of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Aid teachers and students, both in the classroom and on the playground, whether it be working with individuals or groups.
  • Encourage a passion for learning among our students and facilitate their advancement towards favourable academic and EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) outcomes.
  • Always prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children and young adults.
  • Ensuring students remain focused and complete tasks assigned by teachers.
  • Addressing behavioural and special needs concerns in collaboration with teachers.
  • Assisting in the implementation of lesson plans to reinforce the curriculum, aiding in testing and assessment processes.
  • Identifying signs of behavioural issues, collaborating with external health, social, and enforcement agencies, and upholding behavioural management standards for students, including those with complex needs. Additionally, addressing instances of racial/abusive language and bullying.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Possession of a relevant Teaching and Learning qualification, trained to NVQ3 standard.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting children and/or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Enhanced DBS/Children's Barred List check required.
  • Evidence of eligibility to work and reside in the UK.
  • Full/valid UK Driving license with a clean record.
