About the role

  • The Sales Director is responsible for the Distribution, Artisans and Regional Accounts business within the UK&I. A large and dynamic market and key growth driver for the EMEA region. Working in partnership with the UK&I Leadership team, you will drive the sales strategy across all key growth segments, delivering volume & margin growth, ensure max. distribution reach and increase overall equity & recognition of all brands.
    Key responsibilities include
  • Leading, directing, and controlling the activities for our Distribution & Artisan and Regional Accounts business in the UK & Ireland, so that it achieves its short and longterm commercial and financial objectives (e.g. increase margin, volume, market share) as set by the overall UK & Ireland GamePlan.
  • She /he visions the future of the Distribution & Artisan and Regional Accounts business in the UK & Ireland clearly defining and detailing a commercial growth strategy linked to customer needs, current and future and driving the implementation in the area of responsibility.
  • Effectively leads and motivates the sales team, cultivating a strong team spirit and building capabilities in order to maximize individual and team performance and achievement of business goals in a positive working environment. Collaborates constantly and directly with a multifunctional team: marketing, chefs, pricing, sourcing, supply chain to deliver the best customer experience.
  • Responsible for realizing margins and volumes as per budget. Ambition to constantly overachieve and go beyond to drive best possible results.
  • Establishing and building strong client relationships over time that allow for continuity and ongoing representation, reinforced by sales support/delivery programs, and communications to other relevant company functions/divisions:
  • Develop positive working relationships with key stakeholders of the customer including buying, technical, NPD and Supply Chain;
  • Recognize key decision maker of the customer;
  • Facilitate the building of senior relationships with relevant parties of customer accounts, with high focus on toptotop meetings.
  • Keep up to date with current market trends and customer needs and provide relevant training and technical support
  • Work with the UK&I Marketing Director to initiate & support segment marketing/brandbuilding activities, both, independently & in collaboration with distributors. Generate strong brand awareness & "pull" at the enduser level via sales & marketing initiatives to increase the demand for all brands (Callebaut, Cacao Barry, Stewart & Arnold, Mona Lisa, Carma).
  • Monitoring competitive activity in your market and ensuring that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated.
  • Ensure constant followup on commercial goals and achievements in order to meet/exceed budgets. Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly sales forecasts and budgets; monitor sales volume and margin against forecasts to managers, and supply chains and identify problems and provide solutions.
  • Manage product portfolio and launch new products and innovations to the market with close cooperation with local marketing.
  • Own your KPIs & steer your business independently with the guidance of your leadership
  • VP UK & Ireland, VP Distribution & Artisan and Regional Accounts WE.
  • Travel requirements: Daily travel within the UK&I as appropriate with 25% travel across EMEA as required

About you

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred preferably in a business/marketingrelated field
  • Min 10 to 15 years of Sales and Marketing experience, ideally in foodservice, bakery/pastry products, food ingredients, or branded food products
  • FMCG or B2B food manufacturing preferred.
  • Min 5 years of commercial team leadership experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the UK market
