In the heart of Campus West is where you will find the Campus Safety team in their brand new purpose built premises.

The Campus Safety Team is part of the Directorate of Student Life and Wellbeing which consists of all student experience support services.

We have recently undergone a period of transformation and service improvement so it is an exciting time to join our team.


Department:


The Campus Safety Team is committed to building a diverse team of professionals whose role it is to create a safe and secure environment for students and staff, a place where everyone feels safe and welcome.


The Campus Safety Team operates 24/7, 365 facilitated by a flexible shift pattern to meet the needs of a modern University community.

The team is also the primary point of contact outside of normal working hours.


Our operational capability is enhanced by a suite of modern technology managed from our state of the art central Campus Safety Hub which underpins our service provision across campus.

Role


The Campus Safety Team is the first point of contact for security, medical, social and wellbeing related issues, providing advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels across the university on safety and security related issues.

We provide a friendly and high visibility presence to help keep all our people and assets safe and secure.

Regularly contributing at events to promote our team, encourage personal safety and to create an environment where everyone feels safe.


Skills, Experience & Qualification needed:


  • You will be an excellent communicator and problem solver who is professionally curious and has the ability to connect with a diverse range of students, staff and stakeholders to grow a culture of safety and wellbeing.
  • You will have an approach to the role that delivers flexibility, professional resilience and a desire to deliver excellent service in challenging and often complex circumstances and environments.
  • You will be a team player who embraces diversity and inclusivity, a person who will be willing to go the extra mile to help someone in need of support.
