_We want you to have a brilliant social work/life balance here in Breckland, Norfolk _
Hi, I'm Lisa Hilson, Service Manager for the Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Service.

I have worked with Norfolk County Council for five years, as well as having worked in other counties in the East of England, and across Children's Services.

As part of the UASC service development plan we are looking to expand our social care teams. We therefore have several opportunities within the service.

We have increased our service to four social care teams to ensure we can continue to offer a committed and outstanding service to our children and young people.

I am proud of the service and continued commitment to improving the outcomes for children.

The service is very friendly and supportive, and we have built a service culture which nurtures development, creativity, and child centred practice.

Our current two team managers really support their teams and the work they do to achieve positive outcomes for our young people.

Right now, I'm looking for four dedicated Social Workers to work in our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children's (UASC) Teams. I hope that you will have extensive experience working with vulnerable children/young people both under 16 yrs. and yr. olds.

It would be beneficial if you have experience working with UASC, LAC or Leaving Care but it is not essential as we will be able to offer training and support.

This is an exciting service in Norfolk which continues to develop and grow.

You will be part of developing the working practices within the teams as well as working closely with partner agencies to develop a robust, positive offer to those children and young people entering Norfolk (the UK) for the first time.

We offer a friendly and supportive environment and look forward to welcoming dedicated and experienced social work professionals.

Norfolk is a fantastic place to live and work. We are a countywide team, but our main base is in Dereham in the Breckland area. However, we do use Norwich as a base for team meetings also.

We are a hybrid service although encourage teams and workers to meet regularly in office spaces which are hybrid friendly.

Breckland is a particularly beautiful part of Norfolk. Predominately rural but with not too much travelling across the area for our teams.

The area has easy access to the A11 and the A47 and within easy reach of the city of Norwich.

Thetford is home to the beautiful Thetford Forest with an array of activities on offer, from cycling to open air concerts.

Dereham is a traditional market town with numerous restaurants and shops.

If you're an experienced social work professional and like the sound of working in Breckland, I'd love to hear from you.
