An exciting opportunity for an experienced Laboratory Administrator to join a fast paced, innovative FMCG business in Flint. This role will be mainly interpreting results, developing test methodologies whilst also undertaking micro technical administration and data management. The role:


Management of all microbiology department paper and electronic information systems and processes to ensure traceability, ease of use and retrieval of information across Group.

Report microbiological trends and identify, report, and investigate out of specification microbiological data.

Provision of Microbiological technical support and assistance within the microbiology department to meet the demands of the business.

Input and review of administration data and electronic information systems.

Providing correct information for technical support activities.


Understanding of microbiological quality limits and trends and ensuring these are captured in paper and electronic systems and processes in order to be clearly highlighted and progressed.


Skills Required:

Microbiology laboratory experience. - Detail of knowledge to provide technical support with regards to activities within the microbiology department.

To provide training for activities.

Provide cover for microbiological analysis within the company laboratory when needed.


Intermediate/ Advanced level of Understanding of Maths and statistics -At a level to devise mathematical and statistical methods to report, display and analyse microbiological results and trends.

Possess good written skills - for reporting of results and information.

Good verbal communication skills - for gathering and relaying information accurately.

Liaising with outside contractors and suppliers.

Ensuring good relationships with suppliers and contractors in order to secure best possible service.

Building a good working relationship with laboratory technicians, departmental managers and other co-workers in order to promote cooperation

Promotion of importance of hygiene and microbiological issues to all.

2 years experience working in microbiology laboratory environment.

Experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets on an intermediate to advanced level.

Desirable - Microbiology / Biology degree.

Salary up to £27k plus excellent benefit package
