About the Role:


Due to expansion, REAch2 has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the Trust in a newly created position of Head of Procurement.

The post will have overall responsibility for all procurement activity within the Trust, including for all of its schools. This will include responsibility for all procurement processes and policies.


The role will be responsible for the Trust's Procurement Strategy, and the delivery of the strategy to ensure compliance, efficiency, effectiveness, and value for money.

Through this strategy, the Head of Procurement will shape the overall approach to procurement and compliance across the Trust.

  • The role will also have overall responsibility for the Trust's contracts register, ensuring that suppliers deliver against the agreed terms and conditions of the contracts, and that full records are maintained.

This will be achieved through:


  • Direct management of procurement exercises.
  • Management of the central procurement team to deliver both standard and adhoc contracts to meet the needs of all internal customers.
  • Oversight of procurement and contracts being directly managed by other Trust departments, such as Estates and IT.
  • Ongoing liaison with, and training for, Headteachers and other budget holders to ensure that needs are identified, and successful procurement is delivered.


The Procurement team form part of the wider Finance team in the Trust and are integral to an efficient Procure to Pay process.

The role will lead on identifying and resolving issues across the wider process.
- has experience of working in a large, multi-site and complex organisation and of forming effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- has government sector procurement experience preferably within the education sector.
- can demonstrable track-record of delivering procurement efficiencies and value for money.
- is a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS), including evidence of ongoing CPD.
- understands relevant legislation regarding procurement management.
- has experience of managing change and implementing processes, systems, and controls.
- has a good understanding of GDPR.

It would also be useful, although not essential, for the successful individual to have a project management qualification.

This role may need to work in a school occasionally, therefore flexibility with working hours and a willingness to travel is required, however the role will predominantly be home based.
