This role will be required to work collaboratively with a relationship management approach with our senior and key business stakeholders, which includes our SMFs, Board members and our parent (First Rand).
This will involve complex navigation under pressure to meet external stakeholder expectations, keeping senior leaders consistently abreast of regulatory matters and ensuring BAU engagement and communication between the regulator and the business, is of a consistent tone, approach, timely, accurate and complete.
The role is also responsible for implementation and oversight of a robust control framework surrounding regulatory returns, interactions and requests.

What will your day look like?
- Facilitating communication between the business and the regulatory authorities.
- Providing updates and briefings to stakeholders on regulatory engagement matters.
- Ensuring high standards of communication with our regulators are met and that any regulatory expectations are appropriately cascaded to stakeholders and wellmanaged.
- Working with stakeholders across compliance, legal, SMCR approved and certified functions to ensure that regulatory matters and notifications are appropriately managed. You will be part of the Compliance function, and ensure that regulatory engagement matters are appropriately communicated within the team for awareness and oversight.
- You will have a high attention to detail, possess exceptional standards of communication and excellent record keeping.
- You will have an appropriate level of expertise in regulatory communication within financial services, and a strong understanding of regulatory rules and requirements.
- You will ensure that stakeholders are briefed on regulatory requests and communications, you will oversee their satisfactory completion, and you will ensure that sufficient notice is provided to the business of requests, and communications.
- You will oversee that responses are provided to regulators on time and to a high quality.
- Provide relevant feedback to first line Commercial Directors, Business Unit Heads, risk supporters and / or SMEs, and may have to report/present at the relevant risk forums or committees.
- Work with the wider compliance team on initiatives, projects, collaborating to improve and mature the approach to the compliance and conduct risk management framework.
What do we expect from you?
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of internal policies & procedures as well as the appropriate trade, market and regulatory developments.
- Support in analysis and production of thematic and BAU management information ensuring these are timely, accurate and relevant to the risks of the business.
- Provide effective communication between second and first line risk teams in order to raise exceptions and ensure these are acted upon.
- Support and help to embed a robust risk culture through the business.
- Ensure contribution to the team and colleagues.
- Manage and develop reporting relevant to the role.
- Maintaining a good understanding of current Bank relevant risks / issues / events enabling constructive challenge and informative reporting.
- Sound knowledge of Office products, especially Excel.
- Sound reporting skills ability to translate data into information.
- Demonstrate a rational, pragmatic, disciplined and methodical approach to delivery.
- Experience of working within a risk or control area within financial services.
