Due to expanding Dandelion Days Nursery is recruiting and looking for a highly skilled practitioner to join our team.

The Nursery is offers full day care for children from birth to 5 years of age between the hours of 8.

  • 6.00pm, 51 weeks of the year. We are looking to recruit a highly dedicated, enthusiastic, fun individual to provide the highest standards of care and education.
Purpose of post


To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the nurseryTo give support to other team members throughout the nurseryTo work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop.

Responsible to

Nursery Manager/Team Leader

Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Plan and operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your area in conjunction with other team membersObserving and assessing children's development and progressTo keep accurate records of your key children's development and learning journeys and share this with parents, carers and other key adults in the child's lifeImplementing risk assessments, as delegated, to ensure the well-being of children and adults in the settingSupport all staff and engage in a good staff teamLiaise with and support parents and other family membersTo be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g.

training, monthly staff meetings, parent evening, fundraising events etc.
To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.

Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery's philosophy is fulfilledRead, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the ManagerLook upon the nursery, as a "whole" where can your help be most utilised? Be constantly aware of the individual needs of all childrenEnsure someone known and agreed by the nursery and parent collects the childTo respect the confidentiality of all information received.

Please note successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure.


Required education:
NNEB level 3/ NVQ Level 3 DiplomaSEN experience is (desirable)‪Pediatric First Aid and Level 2 Food Safety (desirable)
