Overview:


Reporting to the UK Chief Operating Officer for delivery and operations and Global Head of Capability for workforce planning strategy.

The CBU Country Lead UK is responsible for the overall CBU performance in the UK. More specifically, to provide skilled and capable resource into the delivery focus project streams.

This includes clear leadership accountability for people development, training & competency management, performance and reward, recruitment, talent management and employee engagement.

Therefore, the CBU Country Lead acts as overall resource Function Head with its associated responsibilities. These resources shall be deployed onto multiple client projects with discretion or in collaboration with the Account Delivery Lead.

In some instances, a CBU or capability team may operate as a Service Centre where resources are limited to maximise efficiencies.


The Country Lead will receive direction from COO for UK Country Strategy and Global Head of Capability for CBU Strategy (offering, expertise, footprint).


The CBU Country Lead shall work closely towards mutual delivery and performance targets with the Account Delivery Lead, who provides client specific focus where applicable.


The Country Lead will be supported by CBU Capability Leads which are focused in the development of specific engineering disciplines.


In this challenging role the holder must be able to demonstrate, through proven experience, the ability to manage a team of senior managers across multiple activities in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.


The role requires an excellent understanding of the sector and associated customers, or deep experience in a related industry and matrix organisation with a local and transnational operational set up.

Understanding and building trusting relationships is a business-critical element of the role and requires the job holder to have credibility, authority and experience in a similar environment.

Additionally, the job holder shall ensure consistency in their approach at Group level by alignment with other national counterparts.


Responsibilities:


  • Undertake capability development, succession planning, graduate development, early career development and staff rotation in agreement/conjunction with the Account Delivery Lead.
  • Be the recruitment lead for discipline area, working closely with recruitment team. Acts as the "Owner" of all engineering resource within CBU.
  • To deploy engineering resource onto projects (select competencies, distribute workloads etc.), ensuring that suitable qualified and skilled resource is delivered to the projects when required.
  • To lead, develop and direct the entire CBU team related to their specific capability to deliver the agreed business strategy, taking accountability for applicable CBU & UK business objectives for multiple client accounts engaged within the specific CBU.
  • Ensure alignment to Global CBU strategy and attend regular Global CBU management reviews.
  • Management and reporting of key performance metrics for thier CBU. Primarily Invoicing Rate (utilisation), Operating Margin, headcount (recruitment fulfilment rate, attrition), invoicing (unbilled), bestshore targets and employee satisfaction.
  • Support the preparation of budgets & forecasts for submission into MBU led process, and jointly build multiyear view of skills required to meet future demand.
  • Participate in large / strategic deals (supporting negotiation & bid delivery as required)
  • In conjunction with CBU Capability Leads & Project Managers, manage and report Right First Time (RFT), compliance with Quality process, and lead/support internal quality audits in conjunction with the Quality Executive.
  • Support the Account Delivery Lead (ADL) to ensure a highly effective customer relationship and customer satisfaction.
  • In collaboration with the Head of Projects, conduct independent project reviews.
  • Optimisation/minimisation of nonchargeable 'talent pool' resources, driving recruitment teams towards fulfilment of priority customer requirements
  • Undertake performance reviews of employees, ensuring compliance to internal appraisal process and personal development planning.
  • Assure Health & Safety of all staff working locally or remotely and maintain an uptodate safety training plan.
  • Supports project governance and Chief Engineers
