Position - PayablesAssistant

Location - South Manchester, hybrid

Salary - Up to £22,000 DOE

Working hours - 35 hours p/week, flex hours


Our client is a charitable organisation committed to providing high quality services to the people and neighbourhoods that they work in.

They are now looking for a Payables Assistant to work alongside the Financial Services Team Leader to ensure the smoothrunning of the department.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to kickstart their career within finance and gain some crucial experience.


Responsibilities

Payables:


  • Assist the Payables Supervisor to ensure timely supplier payments
  • Log and process invoices and credit notes
  • Match invoices to purchase orders approved in line with financial regulations.
  • Support the preparation of weekly BACS payment through the online banking system.
  • Prepare cash book journals and check differences in bank statement entries.
  • Ensure effective control over payments taken by direct debit.
  • Prepare credit card statement journals from receipt logs provided by card holders.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to the purchase ledger monthly.
  • Closedown the Accounts Payables ledger at month end,
  • Investigate and resolve system issues which impact on the Payables function(or query resolution)

Skills, experience and knowledge

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and KPIs
  • Good excel and Microsoft skills
