My client is a specialist facilities management company with premises in Leeds.They look after and manage the maintenance and facilities for about 15 properties mainly in Leeds but around West Yorkshire.
They are looking for a Maintenance Operative to join their team to carry out all basic reactive maintenance work, and is some planned.
As well as been involved in checking fire doors, fire alarm testing, and liaising with the client on any jobs that may need doing.
This position would suit somebody from a similar background, a multiskilled handyman/tradesman, or a joiner who is looking to move away from vigorous work to something more manageable and enjoyable.
Some of the job responsibilities of the Maintenance Operative.
Response repair work on office premises. (joinery, patch plastering, painting, basic plumbing etc)
Some planned Maintenance work.
Liasing with the client when needed
Liasing with you contract manager and been the point of call for any subcontractors needed.
Checking Fire Doors
Basic Health and Safety checks
Finding problems and fixing them
Report timing on jobs to the contract manager
Carry out fire drills, emergency lighting tests etc are carried out & accurate records kept & recorded
If you come from a Handyman/Trades background, everything else can be taught as long as you are happy to be client-facing.
The Ideal Maintenance Operative will:
Have similar experience in a similar position as a Maintenance Operative
Have worked as a Multiskiller or Handyman
Have worked as Joiner/Plasterer and looking to move away from big jobs
Have excellent client facing skills
Be positive and have a can do attitude
Be organised and diligient
Have a keen eye for detail.
Have full driving licence
Have own Tools (specialist tools will be provided)
Self-starter and able to manage own workload
The Benefits of the Maintenance Operative Position
£32-35k Salary
Van (which can be taken home with fuel)
Pension
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
